Assessment - COMP122 COMP122 Introduction to object oriented programming, exemplified in Java. Syllabus Timetable Assessment GitLab Assessment There is no exam for this module. Your final mark will be determined on the basis of four individual programming assignments, each worth 25% of the final module mark. These are due on 17/02, 09/03, 30/03, and 04/05 at 5pm sharp, via the Departmental Submission Server. Passing Criteria In order to pass this module, you need to gain an overall average of 40 points or more among the 4 assignments. Academic Integrity Your coursework submissions are individual pieces of work. This means that you cannot collaborate with others on these assignments. Please note the University Guidelines on Academic Integrity with respect to plagiarism and collusion. It is your job to protect your submission from being plagiarised by others! We will treat all involved parties equally. If you chose to use use GitLab for your coursework, make sure that your repository is only visible to you. If you get caught cheating, you will receive zero points for the assignment and therefore fail the module. We will treat this as a Category C offence (see App. L of the Code of Practice for Assessment). Plagiarism detection software will be used on student submissions, so don’t risk it. Extenuating Circumstances If there are extenuating circumstances preventing you from handing in your assignment on time, you may request an extension in the Student Office ( Ashton Building, csstudy@liverpool.ac.uk). To get an extension, you need to request one before the deadline and provide sufficient written documentation for your circumstances. Acceptable reasons for an extension include illnesses, bereavements or other major unforseable events. You will not get an extension because your laptop breaks down or your flatmate’s pet ferret has the runs. In case of doubt, see Appendix M to the Code of Practice if your circumstances justify an extension. You are also welcome to ask in the student office. Penalties In line with the UoL Code of Practice on Assessment, and unless you have been granted extenuating circumstances, we will automatically deduce a late penalty of 5 points at the start of every 24h past the submission deadline. This includes weekends. In order to provide timely feedback, your submission will in part be assessed automatically. It therefore has to be in a very specific format, as outlined in the assignment. Submissions in any other format will get 0 points. Non-compiling submissions will result in 0 points for the assignment. Feedback We aim to assess your work within three weeks of the deadline. You will receive your marks and formative feedback on your work by email. © 2020 Patrick Totzke. Built using Jekyll & Sparrow theme with .
