This individual is responsible for the day- to-day operations, maintenance, security, and improvement of the departmental network. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Administers windows 2000 and active Directory native local area network • Provides support for networking, programming, and database course work involving MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA, CISCO, ORACLE, C++, Visual basic, Java, Linux, Web page Design, and MS Office • Plans, organizes and trains all part-time Lab Technicians at all three locations • Serves as liaison with Campus and District Networks Services Departments • Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and LAN administration • Ability to work in a fast pace college environment • Ability to prioritize and demonstrate effective time-management and organizational skills • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
