Describe the usage of source code management (SCM) and use SCM tools to manage your work in this class. Write object-oriented code to solve realistic problems. Write code with exception handling. Topics covered • Fundamental Principles of programming • Concepts of Object-Oriented programming • Writing codes in JAVA • General Principles of Software Engineering • Software Documentation Entry requirements Others Past La Trobe University students who have previously completed the following subjects are ineligible to enrol in this subject: CSE1OFA Object-Oriented Programming Fundamentals , CSE2BPC Business Programming Concepts, CSE1OOJ and CSE1OJA Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming using Java Additional requirements No additional requirements Description In this subject you will be introduced to object-oriented programming concepts, terminology, and syntax, which you will use to write basic programs in the Java programming language. Specific Java capabilities that will be covered include Java library classes, input/output, and exception handling. You will also learn general principles for software engineering and how to use source code management tools for version control and code distribution. This subject assumes some basic programming experience, and as such requires you to have completed CSE1PE or to be admitted in one of the following courses: SBCS, LBBAN.
