A deal writer will process and review 25-60 contracts weekly. Detail-oriented candidates with accounting backgrounds typically perform well is this role, especially when the team member is looking to use core skills differently than typical accounting work. On Mondays, a deal writer works through a contract exception report, and adjusts exceptions with updated documentation. For unresolved exceptions, the deal writer collaborates with merchant teams to finalize exceptions prior to the deal (contract) performing. Typically, Tuesday to Friday involve e-mail and meetings to finalize that weeks deals and address ad hoc requests for non-standard contracts.Work Environment:Hybrid work environmentStandard Hours 8 to 4 – NO OT for this role or expense is allowed.Many deal writers work from 7 to 3:30.No assigned seating at the office, but we will try to have them sit in the general area so they can communicate and for questions they may have.They may work from home once they fully understand what’s expected and are performing with accuracy.Responsibilities:Verifies deal data integrity.Reviews all deals being created in Merchandising to ensure accuracy.Follows up with Merchandising on various exception reports showing deal oversights that cause calculation and billing issues.Reviews financial parameters of contracts for accuracy and consistency.Enter contracts to system for Merchandising.Assists with Marketing and Loyalty events.Coordinates the support email site.Creates and submits event proposals from Vendors and Merchandising users.Communicates changes in event details to Merchandising, Advertising, Vendors and Marketing or Loyalty Business Owners.Verifies/Creates deals to collect vendor funding for Marketing and Loyalty programs.Top Must-Have Skills:Ability to execute a standard process with consistency and identify variances in contract parametersAbility to clearly state, verbally and in writing, action required of internal clients to resolve variancesAbility to run a meeting from a standard agendaOrganized and can prioritize and complete tasks timelyNot afraid of admitting error and learning from the mistakeTop Nice-To-Have Skills:SQL query capabilityIntermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel, for example: using SUM function, filtering, sortingAbout Apex Systems:Apex offers a number of resources to our contractors including:Training and Development programs – We have a webinar series with global experts who deliver 3-4 technical and leadership webinars a month around hot topics/technologies such as Agile, DevOps, Angular, Node, React, JavaScript, .NET Core, Java 8/9, Redux, Ansible, Kubernetes, etc. Many of these webinars are worth certification credits for major certifying bodies such as PMI, IIBA, and CompTIA (i.e. PDU, CDU, and CEU credits).
