The DKE Lab is located in room 631 of GP South (building 78). The lab is a new central work and meeting area used for development, research group meetings, and telecommunications, and is available for use at any time for students and staff of the DKE group.
For queries regarding lab or server administration please see Dr. Kai Zheng (http://itee.uq.edu.au/~uqkzheng/). This includes:
DKE researchers have access to a one terabyte SAP HANA in-memory database platform for a research and development project. The SAP HANA technology provides DKE with invaluable computing power to analyse large experimental datasets. This project with SAP is aimed at the development of an in-memory approach to processing large quantities of data for applications such as fleet management solutions using GPS devices, smart-phone applications utilising on-board sensors and intelligent transportation systems. The goals are dramatic reductions in operational cost, increased safety, enhanced fleet productivity, and the ability to offer specialised and targeted services to customers who want to find and book the best services for specific transportation needs.
