Laboratory Spectroscopy Web Applet Instructions 1. Java must be enabled. 2. Choose a spectrum. 3. Each spectrum spans 26 ‐ 40 GHz. Select a minimum and a maximum frequency to view. Up to a total of 7 GHz can be displayed at one time. If viewing large frequency ranges causes trouble, narrow the frequency span. 4. Use the cursor and draw a box to zoom in. 5. Right‐click to see more options. 6. To zoom all the way out, right‐click, select Auto Range, and select Both Axes. 7. Enter a frequency in the Frequency Line box if you wish to plot a vertical line at the desired frequency. 8. Use Slaim to select a molecule and frequency range to plot known transitions. 9. Use the Hydrogen and Helium Recombination boxes to view where Recombination lines would be. 10. Use Clear Plot to reset the spectrum.
